
Nelson joins Caesar Systems from Decision Strategies, Inc. with 25 years of international energy experience. He built much of his career with Mobil Oil and ExxonMobil, in senior level positions involving new business and market development, strategic planning, asset management, sales and supply management, and strategic sourcing and procurement. Prior to the Exxon-Mobil merger, he was vice president of market development for Mobil LNG. While working as an engagement leader for Decision Strategies on a major project at Shell, Nelson gained extensive experience implementing the Caesar Systems Petroleum Ventures & Risk (PetroVR) [R] business simulation software.

Jeff Nelson earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics and in geology and environmental sciences from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. He earned a Master of Science in geology with a concentration in marine geology and geophysics from Duke University and later gained a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University with a focus on finance. He completed additional studies at the Chelsea School of Fine Arts in London.
Jeff Nelson is certified as a geologist by the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. He is also a member of the National Geographic Society and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He is conversant in French and Spanish.
