Victor H. Koosh - Chief Executive Officer
Victor Koosh is a serial entrepreneur with 20 years of
experience in the petroleum, high technology, education, and export
industries. He joined Caesar Systems as Vice President in 2001, following
an appointment as Senior Portfolio Advisor, and prior to that, New
Ventures Commercial Manager for Wintershall AG, an OGJ 100
international E&P
company. During this time he coordinated the evaluation of foreign investment opportunities
at asset, portfolio and corporate levels. His
main interests lie in the integration, visualization and
communication of technical and commercial hypotheses for decision
making and portfolio optimization in team environments. Victor
previously co-founded and served as CEO of Meedio, LLC., a premier
provider of digital lifestyle software which was later sold to
Yahoo!.
Mr. Koosh has traveled extensively with his wife
Alejandra and his daughter Isabella and is an eager student of the
cultures he experiences. He speaks Russian,
Spanish and German, is an Eagle Scout and volunteers for
the Sam Houston Area Council of the BSA in various capacities. He was educated in Business Administration at
the University of Houston.
Jerry S. Blinten - Founder and Chief Software Architect
Jerry Blinten is a petroleum engineer with over 30 years of broad-based
petroleum industry experience. Mr. Blinten has held numerous domestic
and international positions with Amoco Production Company and Schlumberger
Well Services. As a director of Amoco's new venture operations in
the FSU in 1992, he began developing a planning and risk analysis
system for project management. He successfully negotiated the rights
to this work in 1996, which has evolved into PetroVR.
In addition to his oil and gas experience, Jerry also has extensive
experience in technology and systems design. He is a specialist
and advocate for object-oriented analysis, design, and development.
Jerry previously served as the Chief Technology Officer for Worldo.com,
a B2B e-commerce company. Jerry also currently serves as advisor
to several Internet and technology start-ups.
Mr. Blinten holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Mathematics and
Physics from North Carolina State University.
Torben Riis - President
Torben Riis joined Caesar Systems in 1997 as Vice President, following
an extensive career in petroleum engineering - eventually being
named a reservoir manager on the Timan Pechora joint venture between
Texaco, Exxon, Amoco and Norsk Hydro, located in northern Siberia.
He introduced PetroVR software to Timan Pechora and has been instrumental
in developing PetroVR since its early days. He began his career
at Maersk Oil & Gas in his homeland of Denmark, working first
as a well site engineer, advancing to production engineer, and then
as reservoir engineer for a number of years, involved in analytical
evaluations, licensing, reservoir simulation, well testing, and
many other technical areas.
Mr. Riis holds an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical
University of Denmark and an MBA from INSEAD.
Donald Zmick – Vice President of Client Services
Donald Zmick has more than 20 years of experience in the oil and gas exploration and production industry, beginning as a field geologist and a pumper during his college years. He works directly with existing and prospective clients of Caesar Systems, providing consulting services and support implementation related to PetroVR software. His prior work experience includes Chevron, Amoco and Murphy Oil. Zmick also served as an assistant vice president and petroleum engineer for NBD Bank (Detroit), now part of JP Morgan Chase.
Mr. Zmick earned a Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude, from Texas Tech University and a Master of Business Administration degree from The University of Chicago. He is a competitive hockey player, coaches youth hockey and is also a classically trained church organist.
Jeff Nelson – Client Services Manager
Jeff Nelson joined Caesar Systems in 2008, bringing 25 years of international energy experience, much of it with Mobil and ExxonMobil, having held a variety of senior level positions that involved new business and market development, asset management and strategic planning, sales and supply management, and strategic sourcing and procurement. Prior to the Exxon-Mobil merger, Jeff was Vice President of Market Development for Mobil LNG.
Mr. Nelson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and in geology and environmental sciences from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. He earned a Master of Science in geology with a concentration in marine geology and geophysics from Duke University and later gained a Master of Business Administration degree at Southern Methodist University with a focus on finance. He completed additional studies at the Chelsea School of Fine Arts in London.
Alex Jok – Client Services Manager for Shell
Alex Jok joined Caesar Systems in 2008 with extensive business experience and an integrative approach that upstream leaders find critical as they ramp up E&P financial investments around the world. Alex brings 14 years of oil and gas industry experience, primarily as petroleum economist, business strategist and field development planning specialist. He began his career with PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd., the national oil company of Malaysia. Most recently, he served as a senior consultant with Decision Strategies, Inc. Alex has extensive, worldwide experience that includes complex, multi-party fiscal regime evaluations; development modeling for unconventional and prospective ventures; large portfolio evaluations both country-specific and multi-regional; as well as integrated onshore-offshore oil and natural gas developments. He co-authored the article “Improving Upstream Forecasts,” with Don Zmick, which was published in the October 2007 issue of Oil & Gas Financial Journal.
Mr. Jok earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Indiana University and a Master of Business Administration degree from The University of Phoenix.
Milko Binza Moussirou – Client Services Manager for Shell
Milko has almost 15 years of oil and gas industry experience in several countries, having supported projects for Shell during many of these years. His role is to equip Shell team members with the essential hands-on coaching and mentoring necessary to enable Shell to reap the full benefits that the PetroVR software solutions. Prior to joining Caesar Systems, he was employed with Decision Strategies as a senior consultant where he worked on various E&P projects primarily for Shell. He spent 12 years in various roles with Shell in locations worldwide involved in exploration activities, performing development planning, project coordination, and managing and implementing contracts and procurement processes.
Milko earned a master of science degree in Civil Engineering & Geomatics from École Supérieure des Géomètres et Topographes (ESGT) Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM) in Le Mans, France. He is fluent in numerous languages including English, French and Czech. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He created and designed the web site www.les-pantheres.com, which earned him an international RFI Net Africa award in 2004. The award was sponsored by Radio France International and the UNESCO.
Leandro Caniglia - Director of Development
Leandro Caniglia joined Caesar Systems in 2001 and serves as director of development. For more than a decade prior to this, Caniglia worked as a Smalltalk consultant for several companies in Argentina, Brazil and Chile. He was professor at the University of Buenos Aires for more than 20 years. Caniglia has also worked as a researcher in the CONICET, the official office for scientific research in Argentina. He founded SUGAR, the Smalltalk User Group of Argentina and the MathMorphs Squeak User Group. He has a Ph.D. in Mathematics and has published extensively on Computational Algebraic Geometry.
Valeria Murgia - Development Lead
Valeria Murgia joined Caesar Systems in 2001 and serves as a solution architect and development lead for the company. She is an expert in Smalltalk and GemStone technologies. Since 1990, she has conceived, developed and maintained mission-critical systems for government and private business in South America. Although she holds a Master of Science degree in computer science, she has also completed graduate studies in mathematics and music composition. She is the author of GemSqueak, a completely refactored open source GemStone client for the Squeak multi-media environment.
Kathy A. Gillette - Support Manager
Kathy Gillette possesses 25 years experience in the oil and gas
industry, with responsibilities that include daily operations, supervision,
and conducting development studies, both independently and on multi-disciplinary
teams. She is proficient in applying a broad range of engineering
and analytical methods, coordinating technical work teams, and providing
training.
Her experience includes reservoir management and development planning,
having served in numerous positions at Exxon and Amoco Production
Company (now BP).
She holds a Masters of Sciences in Chemical Engineering from Rice
University and is currently completing her MBA at the University
of Houston.
Andrea Chiappe – Product Manager
Andrea Chiappe has more than 15 years of experience in the E&P industry, working as an analyst on business development, petroleum economics and engineering operations on international projects. Andrea’s technical background and experience in all phases of petroleum economics and the petroleum opportunity lifecycle bring a wealth of knowledge to Caesar Systems clients. She works directly with clients to gain a thorough understanding of their needs and to coordinate with our software development team for implementation. She serves as a subject matter expert and has authored technical papers.
Prior to joining Caesar Systems, Ms. Chiappe was employed with Pioneer Natural Resources in both the United States and Argentina for almost 10 years. She previously worked for OXY and Quintana Minerals Santa Cruz Inc. She studied chemistry at the University of Buenos Aires and received a specialization in oil and gas from the Catholic University of Argentina. She is fluent in numerous languages including Spanish and French. |
